2002 HYUNDAI SANTA FE GL The introduction of the Santa Fe last year marked Hyundai’s first incursion into the popular sport-utility-vehicle market. Like most compact SUVs, the Santa Fe is built on a reinforced car platform, in this case, the Sonata’s, and it uses the Sonata powertrains. It is available in GL, GL V-6 and GLS V-6 versions, with all-wheel drive available only on the V-6 models. Inside The front and rear seats are easy to enter and exit. The front seats are comfortable, and drivers quickly find a very good driving position with a clear view except to the rear, because of the two head restraints. Smooth and precise, the manual transmission is well geared and pleasant to use. At 100 km/h in fifth gear, it runs the engine at around 2,300 rpm, which brings down both noise and fuel consumption.
